Zürich City Council and the Transport Council have agreed to purchase 70 Flexity 2 trams from Bombardier. The value of the contract is CHF 358 million (EUR 322.7 million), and, according to the City Council, the value of a vehicle is CHF 4.28 million (EUR 3.85 million). The vehicles will be delivered in 2018-2023.
In the next few years the public transport company VBZ will need to replace its ‘Tram 2000’ fleet becuase it will reach to end of its life.
