Wrocław Municipal Transport (MPK) issued a tender for the supply of 40 partially or completely low-floor light rail vehicles. Deliveries of new vehicles would be completed in 2019, MPK says.
The light rail vehicles must have the drive components (inverters, motors, converters) and air conditioning system has already produced and operated in a period of not less than 2 years. The contractor must also provide specialist equipment.
MPK estimates that the contract will be worth at least PLN 192 million (USD 51 million).
Deadline for submission of bids is July 3. The tender is open to companies that in the last three years delivered at least 20 brand new, fully or partially low-floor trams, equipped with drive components (inverters, motors, converters) and air conditioning system has already produced and operated in a period of not less than 2 years.
Contract is to be completed by 30 November 2019. Proceedings may be invalidated in case no EU co-financing is obtained.
In the next period Wrocław plans a significant expansion of the tram network as 2022 provides for implementation of six routes with a length of approx. 15 km.
