Transport for West Midlands (TfWM), part of the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA), will auction off its Ansaldo T69 trams, which were taken out of service in 2014. They will be the subject of an e-auction in January 2017.
There are 15 trams up for auction, each with a capacity of up to 156 passengers. The Ansaldo T69 trams were in service between 1998 and 2014. They were phased out following the introduction in 2014 of the Urbos 3 trams now in use on the network, and have been in storage at a depot in Long Marston, Warwickshire ever since.
The e-Auction will take place on Monday 29 January 2018, at 10 am and will be hosted by BravoSolution. To take part bidders must be a registered company. There is no reserve on the trams but bidding will be in increments of £100 and each unit will be sold as seen.
