US Watco Transloading company has purchased the assets of River Road Terminals entering into a 10-year lease of the underlying 38 acres of real estate. At the end of the term of the lease, Watco has the option to take ownership of the real estate.
River Road Terminals handles various dry bulk commodities including fertilizer, salt, anthracite, lignite, and other ores and minerals. The terminal is located at Mile Marker 601 on the Ohio River. Rail access is provided by RJCC short line operated by R.J. Corman, which interchanges with the CSX in Louisville and Winchester, Kentucky, and the Norfolk Southern in Lexington, Kentucky.
