Warsaw public transport company ZTM Warszawa announced the tender for the acquisition of 213 new low floor trams with an estimated value of PLN 2.3 billion (EUR 538 million). The contract involves the acquisition of 123 trams with an option for 90 more vehicles.
The tender involves the purchase of 85 bidirectional trams, 18 unidirectional trams that will have a length of 33 m and 20 24m-long vehicles. The option for the 90 trams include 45 bidirectional and 45 unidirectional, all with a 33m length.
The delivery of the first tram is planned for the second quarter of 2019 with the last batch by April 2021. The additional trams included in the contract should be delivered by June 2023.
Within the tender, the offer price has the big score (53%), followed by the level of maintenance in the first 1 million km (20%), energy consumption (9%).
