Uzbekistan intends to provide Tajikistan with an opportunity of alternative transit railway line, said the spokesman of the State Railway Company, Utkur Astanov.
Management of Uzbekistan Railways decided on the launch of Tajik transit traffic via new railway line in Uzbekistan. At the same time, Tajik Railways suggested to reduce the transit fees, and the company is already working on their decision, reported Vremya Vostoka.
These proposals relate not only to the tariffs but also to the routs. It was decided to start the transit traffic of Tajikistan on a new line running in Uzbekistan. As for the reduction of tariffs, the final decision has not yet been made, added Astanov.Earlier, Tajik Railways reduced tariffs for Uzbekistan on transit of certain goods by 50%.
