United Wagon Company has delivered Arkhbum an additional batch of new generation flat cars for timber transport.
Together with the latest batch, the operator’s fleet of Tikhvin-produced cars reaches 319 units.
The 40 feet flat car model has an increased loading volume of 122 m3 and an increased load capacity of 74 t.
The car’s design solutions significantly reduce idle space when loading freight and ensure that the car can be loaded without a freight cap. The flat car is equipped with 18-9855 bogies with an axle load of 25 tonnes showing improved operational reliability, which extends the car’s maintenance interval up to 1 million km equivalent to eight years. The flat car has a service life of 40 years.
In February, the two companies have signed a contract for the supply of 25 flat cars which are to be now added to the existing fleet of 305 cars supplied by UWC.
