Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) will continue to renew the critical infrastructure, replace aging its fleet and expand capacity for growing ridership under its proposed Fiscal Year 2017 Capital Budget and 12-Year Capital Program.
The USD 548.63 million FY 2017 proposal advances SEPTA’s “Rebuilding for the Future” initiative and includes projects such as bridge and track replacement, reconstruction of stations and other facilities, and the purchase of new vehicles.
Other major initiatives include communications, signal systems and technology improvements, safety and security improvements, fare modernization project, stations, loops and parching, vehicle acquisitions and overhauls.
