Union Pacific will invest USD 45 million on its transport infrastructure in Oklahoma. The company’s planned investment covers a range of initiatives, including USD 33 million to maintain railway track and USD 8 million to maintain bridges in the state. Under its investment programme in Oklahoma, UP will allot USD 24 million for the railway line between the Kansas Oklahoma state line and Pryor to replace 80.5 km of rail. To replace 26,520 rail ties and install 18,548 tonnes of rock ballast on Gore – Wagoner railway line, UP will invest USD 3.6 million.
This year’s planned in Oklahoma is part of the company’s ongoing investment strategy. In the last five years, 2013-2017, Union Pacific invested more than USD 211 million strengthening Oklahoma’s transport infrastructure.
“Our targeted investments support customers and enhance our efficiency to deliver the goods American businesses and families use daily,” said Brenda Mainwaring, Union Pacific assistant vice president – Public Affairs, Southern Region.
Union Pacific plans to spend USD 3.3 billion across its network this year, following investments totaling approximately USD 34 billion from 2008-2017.
