Ukrzaliznytsia will not get investment for its development in 2016 if tariffs on rail freight transport are not raised by the planned 15%, Minister of Infrastructure, Andriy Pyvovarsky, said at a meeting with rail freight producers.
„Last year we said that the planned investment for 2016 is UAH 10 billion (USD 370 million), but amidst the ongoing discussions about the increase in tariffs Ukrzaliznytsia could be deprived of the funds. If tariffs are not raised, we won’t even reach the level of investments in 2015,” the minister said.
Pyvovarsky once again stressed that it is necessary to establish the National Commission for Transport Regulation as soon as possible to settle the issue of tariff formation.
