Ukraine’s Minister of Infrastructure, Volodymyr Omelyan, and Dirk Ahlborn, CEO of Hyperloop Transportation Technologies, signed a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation to develop the new technology. According to the minister, in the nearest future a center will be opened which will work on not only with Hyperloop, but also on the engineering of new materials and new components of this modern transport mode. “I hope that we will be able to create a joint center in Ukraine. The location will be either in Kiev or in the Dnipro,” the minister said.
“We have clearly agreed to join forces, firstly, we will jointly develop the technology, secondly, we have agreed on a joint search for investors for this project. It should be commercially successful,” Omelyan said.
Hyperloop Transportation Technologies was one of the first companies interested in the Hyperloop high-speed transport project. The company already has contracts for the design and construction of high-speed transport lines with countries such as France, Slovakia, Austria, Hungary, the United Arab Emirates and others.
