Mercitalia Group has announced that TX Logistik Switzerland, with its headquarters in Basel, is operational.
Starting December 11, the company operates on Swiss Corridor, crossing the Swiss territory, offering transport services between Italy and Northern Europe.
“With the new Swiss Corridor service, the companies of the Mercitalia Group will manage all the production factors of freight transport, from origin to destination, with greater efficiency and effectiveness, offering clients even higher quality standards of service on the Rhine-Alps Corridor,” Marco Gosso CEO of Mercitalia Logistics said.
In the first phase, 40 freight trains will be operated by TX Logistik Switzerland. Weekly transport services will be provided between Italy, Germany, Netherlands and Belgium, using the Gotthard and Lötschberg railway corridors. This will allow the Group to internalize operating costs of around EUR 12 million per year.
“The new Swiss Corridor service will allow greater synergy and perfect collaboration possible between the companies of the Mercitalia Group. TX Logistik Swizterland, with 12 locomotives, will guarantee in this first phase the railway traction for 40 freight trains every week, that, crossing Switzerland, will connect efficiently Italy and Northern Europe,” Mirko Pahl CEO of TX Logistik noted.
The Mercitalia Group with Swiss Corridor of TX Logistik Switzerland aims to offer its customers a high quality of service that, thanks to a new integrated management of the industrial chain, will allow high standards of punctuality, reliability and operational efficiency.
