Tver Carriage Building Plant, part of Transmashholding, won the tender on the supply of 15 seven-car electric Ivolga trains (‘Oriole’ train, in Russian) to Central passenger suburban company (Central PKK). The vehicles will be delivered in the second quarter of 2019 and will be put into commercial operation on Moscow Central diameters (IDC).
The EMU EG2Tv ‘Ivolga’ train will be equipped with the latest technologies, which provide significant energy savings, reduced operating costs and reduced intervals between trains. The applied technical solutions allow to form trains from 5 to 11 cars.
The train is also fitted with USB-connectors for charging electronic devices, information system, dedicated space for bicycles and passengers with limited mobility and passengers with children. For the first time, the new trains will be equipped with automatic passenger counting system.
The Ivolga EMUs have wide entrance doors, comfortable chairs and air conditioning systems.
This is the second tender won by TVZ, after in March the two companies signed a contract for the supply of 23 EG2Tv DC electric multiple units.
