Transmashholding’s President Andrey Bokarev and GE’s CEO for Russia & CIS Ron Pollett signed an agreement on the establishment of a joint venture, according to the “Gudok”.
The joint venture, named “Penza Diesel Engines”, will manufacture and provide maintenance to GEVO locomotive diesel engines. The plant will be commissioned in 2017 and will be capable of manufacturing 250 engines yearly within the 1600-4700 kW range. The engines will be marketed to both Russian and foreign locomotive manufacturers.
