The first TMH passenger car for Egyptian National Railways (ENR) has arrived at Alexandria Port, after three weeks since its dispatch from Hungary. The new car will enter tests on Egyptian railway network, being performed by ENR.
In February, two prototypes manufactured at Tver Plant (part of TMH) entered noise certification tests in Hungary, on the railway line linking Mezőtúr and Tiszatenyő as well as dynamic tests for braking system. Tests were performed at the speed of 80 km/h and 120km/h. The certification was issued by the KTI Research Institute.
The passenger coaches are part of a EUR 1 billion contract signed in 2018 by the TMH Hungary and ENR for the supply of 1,300 cars comprising five types. All coaches should be be delivered until 2023.
