Authorities started the tests on express metro link that connects Taipei and Taoyuan International Airport MRT.
The Taoyuan International Airport MRT system is almost complete and will enter into commercial service by the end of the year.
”The Taoyuan International Airport MRT is about 95% complete. There are still tests to be conducted on the line’s signal system and its mechanical and electrical systems before it can start operation in December,” Chao Le-chun, director of the Mass Rapid Transit Engineering Office at the Bureau of High Speed Rail said.
The 35 km line has 14 stations and the trains will run every 10 minutes during rush hour and every 15 minutes during other periods, taking 35 minutes to travel between Taipei Main Station and Taoyuan Airport.
