Tender launched for Srbija Voz maintenance facility modernisation

The tender on consultancy services for the expansion and upgrade of Serbian rail passenger operator’s Zemun technical passenger station facility, located on the outskirts of Belgrade, was launched.
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development provides a loan of up to EUR 37 million to Serbia Voz for the implementation of the project.
The project includes two components which envisage the modernization works at TPS Zemun, including civil works and the replacement of the required equipment (component 1) and the supply and installation of the management information systems for Srbija Voz (component 2).
The consultant is required to facilitate successful and timely implementation of the project by providing procurement support services for the second component and to carry out the duties of “the engineer” for the Component 1.
The interested companies may submit their technical and financial proposal until August 13. The EUR 500,000 assignment is expected to be awarded in September 2018 with a total duration of forty months.
Last year, EBRD announced two sovereign guaranteed loans with a total value of EUR 47 million. The first tranche of EUR 30 million was signed at the end of December and the second one is expected to be provided early in 2018.
TPS Zemun is offering maintenance services for the new EMUs and classic locomotive-hauled coaching sets and its expansion and upgrade is essential for the uninterrupted maintenance process of the company’s rolling stock, following the planned closure of a maintenance facility in downtown Belgrade.
The project aims to provide additional maintenance capacity to support the company’s rolling stock growth and to respond to the closure of the facilities in downtown Belgrade, provide an adequate maintenance facility for the company’s new EMUs, as existing facilities do not meet the minimum requirements, and to reduce the empty coaching stock moves due to its location on the international Corridor X and proximity to Belgrade.
