Alstom selected Teleste to supply onboard solution for Coradia trains which will be operated by Luxembourg state railways, CFL.
The onboard solution for Coradia trains provided by Teleste includes a passenger information system and CCTV, as well as onboard video surveillance system that will provide safe and secure travel for passengers through easy and effective security control features. All coaches will be fitted with security cameras to increase passenger and crew safety. The modern passenger information system enables easy delivery and management of real-time travel data in moving trains reinforced by seamlessly connected intercommunication and public address systems as well as TFT and LED displays.
At the end of 2018, Alstom and Société Nationale des Chemins de Fer Luxembourgeois (CFL) signed a contract for the supply of 34 double-deck EMUs, with an option for 20 additional trains. EUR 360 million is the value of the contract for the new trains which will be designed and developed in Valenciennes, France. The new trains have a total capacity for more than 15,000 seats transporting more passengers than the existing fleet.
The ordered fleet includes 80-metre and 160-metre long trains will be delivered between December 2021 and 2024. They will be able to operate at speeds of 160 km/h, running on the Luxembourg railway network, as well as in Belgium and France.
The new trains for CFL combine the proven platform with the latest onboard technologies, anticipating the future increase in the number of passengers as well as their expectations for a high-quality travel experience. The trains are equipped with WIFI and LED lighting
The Coradia EMUs for CFL boast the latest technologies offering the best possible experience to both passengers and operator’s staff. The trains meet the highest standards for interoperability and will be equipped with ETCS level 2-baseline 3 and TBL1+ signalling systems.
