Swiss operators, SBB to install repeaters in regional trains

Switzerland’s InTrainCom consortium, comprising Swisscom, Sunrise and Orange Switzerland, have reached an agreement with national railway operator SBB to improve mobile phone reception in regional trains. Around 1,700 carriages will be equipped with repeaters between 2015 and 2020. A total of over CHF 300 million (EUR 248 mln) will be invested in mobile coverage in regional and S-Bahn trains up until 2020. This joint solution applies to all regional railway operators.
