Swiss rolling stock manufacturer, Stadler, and EVAG, the public transport authority in the German city of Erfurt, have signed a contract for the delivery of 14 new trams.
Thus, based on requirements, Stadler will deliver a 42-m long version of its Tramlink tram. The new trams for Erfurt (the biggest city and capital of Thuringia land) will transport 248 passengers, 102 on seats. The vehicles will have five double doors and two single doors, as well as multi-functional spaces. Modern passenger information systems enable the individual planning of the journey.
Stadler estimates that the first tram of the new order will be delivered to Erfurt at the end of 2020.
