Stadler Pankow has received a EUR 60 million contract from German city transport operator Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG) to build 11 four-car type IK trainsets.
Delivery of the 11 underground trains is scheduled to be completed in Berlin Pankow by the end of 2017.
Two-type IK underground train prototypes are currently undergoing trials on the BVG route network. Funds for this order are being provided by the Berlin Senate from the Special Infrastructure Fund for the Growing City (SIWA).
