Syntus, a subsidiary of Keolis, has awarded the Swiss rolling stock manufacturer a contract for the maintenance of 16 FLIRT EMUs. The contract will spread for a period of 15 years. The EMUs, also to be delivered by Stadler, will be used for regional transport services on the route between Zwolle and Kampen / Enschede, starting December 2017.
Stadler Service Netherlands will be in charge of the maintenance service, which takes place in the new depot in Hengelo.
The nine three-car and seven four-car rail vehicles are currently undergoing tests on the Amersfoort – Zwolle line. The 16 electric FLIRT3 trains have a maximum speed of 160 km/h.
Syntus will start operating the regional rail service on the Zwolle and Kampen / Enschede lines, also in December, when it will change its name to Keolis Netherlands.
At the beginning of 2017, Stadler was awarded the contract to manufacture 16 FLIRT electric multiple-unit (EMU) trains for the operators Syntus bv and Keolis in the Netherlands. The contract is worth approximately EUR 125 million.
