Stadler has shipped the rack railway locomotive to Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC) for car-free tourist destination Vall de Núria, in the Pyrenees.
In 2017, FGC awarded Stadler the contract for the delivery of the vehicle which ensures the train service to the tourist destination at 1967 meters above sea level.
FGC operates the line all year round and plans to transport its visitors with the powerful Stadler locomotive from August onwards.
The Vall de Núria covers a distance of 12.5 km and takes you up an incline of over 1000 metres.
