Rail freight operator Srbija Kargo is analysing a project for the overhaul of its rolling stock with the aim to increase cargo traffic. Representatives of UK-based railway engineering company Quantum held a meeting with the management of Srbija Kargo and state-owned railway infrastructure company Infrastruktura Zeleznice Srbije to present its know-how in the upgrade of freight rail carriages, a statement of the Serbian Infrastructure Ministry shows.
The management of Quantum also met with Serbian Infrastructure Minister Zorana Mihajlovic to discuss the possibilities for using the experience of other European railway companies in the field of reconstruction of old freight rail carriages. Srbija Kargo was established in August 2015 following the unbundling of railway operator Zeleznice Srbije.
