Aldesa Construcciones and Coalvi are the two companies of the consortium that won the contract for the modernisation of trams in Gdansk, Poland. The contract is estimated at EUR 26.5 million and was assigned by Gdansk Development Department. The contract includes both the modernisation of a 7.8-km tram line and the modernisation of the adjacent road line. Also, 14 stations will be upgraded on the route of the tram line, 17 level crossings, the pedestrian ways and the adjacent cycling lanes.
Also, the traffic lights will be replaced. The new systems will be equipped with passenger information facilities and will be connected to TRISTAR monitoring system. This is an intelligent traffic management system already used in several Polish cities. Works will be carried out in three phases and will be completed by the end of May 2019.
