Bulgarian Transport Minister Ivaylo Moskovski announced that the rehabilitation of the 23-km railway section Sofia – Elin Pelin would begin in February. The contract for the rehabilitation of the railway section was granted to a consortium led by Kelet-UT (Hungary) in November 2016. Under the contract, the consortium has one year for design works and three years for construction works on the project.
The value of the contract is BGN 120 million (EUR 61.3 million). The project will be financed by the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF).
