Patrick Jeantet, Deputy CEO of SNCF and Chairman of SNCF Réseau and Antoine Metzger, CEO of NGE and president of Strategic TSO Board Catenary, representative of the TSO group Catenary, Setec Rail, Mobility, and ETF, have signed a EUR 277 million contract for the replacement of 180 kilometers of catenary lines on the RER C line between Paris and Brétigny for the period 2017-2024.
The operation is 100% financed by SNCF Réseau.
This first outsourcing of catenary renewal operations is part of an innovation policy. This investment is part of the achievement of ambitious and nevertheless essential regeneration objectives in the Île-de-France region: in 5 years, investment in regeneration will have been multiplied by 2 in order to reach EUR 620 million in 2016. It will represent nearly EUR 800 million in 2017, in a context where the number of passengers and trains continues to increase: + 3% of per year, almost 7% in the first half of 2016. To carry out such a volume of work on one of the most widely circulated networks in the world, SNCF Réseau innovates by joining forces with the best experts in the railway industry.
For the Île-de-France region alone, more than EUR 1 billion is invested in partner companies, both for works, studies and the purchase of raw materials. SNCF Réseau is thus a leading player in the industrial sector in Île-de-France.
