SNCF has begun selling lower priced tickets for TGV trips that can be bought between three and fifteen days ahead of departure in a bid to attract younger customers who are in the habit of making last-minute ticket purchases.
The tickets will only be available via an online voting system on the company’s TGV Pop website. Travellers can find the train to their destination that could leave within 15 days and must vote for it, agreeing to buy the cheap ticket should the train receive enough support.
If the train receives enough support, codes are released three-days before its departure for voters to buy tickets. If the train does not receive enough support, it does not leave.
