As of 1 February, SNCB will introduce a EUR 7 additional fee for every ticket bought on-board. The additional fee will add to the current price of the ticket. The measure will also apply in the case of those who have left their season ticket at home who will be forced to buy a ticket and pay the additional fee of EUR 7. Afterwards, the holders of the season ticket will have 14 days to go to an office and present their pass so as to recover their money. In this way, SNCB wants to simply the train ticket sale rules and to avoid complications. At the same time, SNCB installs 740 ticket vending machines in rail stations and stops to provide the passengers with several opportunities of buying their tickets.
