EuroCity between Brussels and Paris kicks off in time for the Summer Olympics. This Wednesday morning, the first EuroCity train left Brussels-Midi station for Paris. The train stopped at Mons station before continuing on its way to the French capital. Former Belgian Olympic high jump gold medallist Tia Hellebaut was there to cut the ribbon for this first inaugural journey.
In the coming weeks, Paris will be the world capital of sport and many travelers will cross the border to go to the City of Lights. For this occasion, SNCB is expanding its classic offer and is offering EuroCity trains, an additional possibility for tourists or supporters who will go to cheer on the athletes.
Four EuroCity trains per day
From this Wednesday until August 11, four trains per day will run between the two capitals: one early in the morning and the other early in the afternoon from Brussels-Midi, and one early in the afternoon and another in the evening from Paris-Nord.
EuroCity trains stop at Mons station (the only stop between Brussels and Paris), both on the outward and return journeys.
