Shift2Rail Joint Undertaking (S2R JU) has launched the 2020 call for proposals for R&I activities, with a funding of EUR 146.6 million. The application will be accepted until 21 April 2020.
The indicative H2020 co-funding made available by the S2R JU for this call is EUR 75.4 million, out of an estimated projects’ value of around EUR 146,6 million.
19 topics are opened, of which 8 are open to S2R Members (CFM) and 11 to non-JU Members (OC). Under this call. The new Call is an opportunity for the rail sector to join forces and through the funded R&I activities contribute to delivering the European Green Deal.
“Our goal is to move beyond Research and Innovation to ensure market uptake of our forward-looking solutions, and to contribute substantially in meeting the expectations highlighted for rail in the European Commission’s Communication on the European Green Deal. We are looking for promising ideas that will help us pave the way for our next R&I programme,” Carlo Borghini, the Executive Director of the Shift2Rail JU said.
This call is expected to raise high interest in the transport community and beyond. The S2R JU is expecting a broader participation to the 2020 call, both geographically and in terms of synergies.
