Following the announcement in July of plans to buy more than 350 bullet trains this year, China Railway Corp. (CRC) chose the companies to build them.
Bombardier Sifang (Qingdao) Transportation Ltd. (BST) won an order for 15 trains that can run at up to 350 kph. Qingdao Sifang Co. Ltd. received an order to make 162 trains, including 98 that can run at speeds of up to 250 kph. Changchun Railway Vehicles Co. Ltd. won a contract to build 66 trains that can run at up to 300 kph, and Tangshan Railway Vehicle Co. Ltd. will build 63 similar units. Changchun Railway also received an order to build 35 bullet trains that can operate at high altitudes and in low temperatures, and Qingdao Sifang won orders for 10 trains of this type.
