Infrastruktura Zeleznice Srbije has launched an invitation for tenders for the procurement of 5 heavy-duty motor tower cars for overhead contact line maintenance. The company intends to use part of the proceeds of a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) towards the cost of procurement of the machinery. The invitation for tenders follows the general procurement notice for this project which was published on the EBRD website on 2 September 2016.
The machinery shall be permanently working under temperature changes from -20 °C to +40 °C; relative humidity ≤ 75%, and up to an altitude of 1,000 m. The operational life of the machines should be no less than 30 years. Towing and bumping equipment should be in accordance with the UIC Leaflet 520, and the vehicles should fit into the loading gauge in accordance with JZ standards and UIC Leaflets 505-1 and 506.
The heavy-duty motor tower cars shall be equipped with modern sets and devices for secure and safe work of the contact line team in all weather conditions. The machinery will be used on railway lines with a track gauge of 1,435, a maximum track slope of 30‰ and an axle load of 16-22.5 t.
Sealed tenders from international suppliers can be submitted until 17 October 2017.
