RZD International has completed the overhaul of the Resnik-Valjevo section of the railway line linking Serbia’s Belgrade to Montenegro’s Bar, according to an announcement made by Serbia’s railway infrastructure manager Infrastruktura Zeleznice Srbije. Regular railway traffic on the 77.6 km-long section was relaunched.
RZD International started the second phase of the overhaul of the Resnik-Valjevo section in September. The works included a full rehabilitation of more than 14.8 km of tracks, installation of six road crossings, repair of seven overpasses and 11 bridges. In addition, the overhead catenary system will be replaced throughout the full length of the 42 km-long section. The modernisation project required total investments of USD 79.9 million.
