Scomi Engineering Bhd has secured additional works for the Line 17 – Gold of the Sao Paulo monorail project in Brazil worth RM 504.6 million (109.3 million euros), increasing its total contract value to RM 601.8 million (130.3 million euros).
The company was initially awarded a contract to provide the design, systems integration and certain key parts of the rolling stock in 2013. With the additional contract, it is now directly contracted to provide full rolling stock and additional systems, including signalling and operations control centre systems, track switches, power rails, power supply and distribution system and fibre optics as well as cable trays.
The Line 17 – Gold will have 8.8km and will feature automatic train operation technology. The project’s completion in scheduled in the first quarter of 2018.
