SYSTRA signed a 81.9 million SAR (€20 million) contract for preliminary designs for Medina’s future metro system on behalf of the Madinah Transit Consultants Consortium, led by SYSTRA. The project involves 3 lines (green, blue and red) operating services to the Medina Haram, and 94 km of track.
SYSTRA will be responsible for producing feasibility and preliminary design studies for the future metro network. This will include planning studies, preliminary designs and preparing technical design-build tender documents. The length of the project is 12 months.
“We will ensure that all the technical decisions we take in Medina focus on our customer’s vision, just like for all our public transport solutions” explained Pierre Verzat, CEO of SYSTRA. “Medina’s requirements are particularly demanding and this has energised our engineers and project managers”.
