In the three summer months, Sapsan trains carried 1,085,400 passengers, 27% more than in summer 2014.
In August 2015, high-speed Sapsan trains carried 359,500 passengers, 16.4% more than in August 2014.
In all, a total of 2,603,200 passengers travelled on the Sapsan high-speed train services between St. Petersburg – Moscow from January-August 2015, 25.6% up on the same period last year.
Since high-speed Sapsan services were first launched, the trains have carried about 16.1 million passengers.
The number of Sapsan tickets bought on the Internet has grown steadily in 2015, with 2,259,000 purchased in the first 8 months of this year, 623,500 more than last year, an increase of 38%. In August, 51% of Sapsan tickets bought were purchased on the Internet.
