Track laying started on the currently extension project of 14-km-long Samsun tram network. The 14-km long extension line will be between the Main Train Station and Tekkekoy. The new line is planned to open in October this year.
Earlier, Samsun awarded Durmazlar a contract for supplying 8 tram to be used on the newly extended line. The trams will be operated by Samulas, subsidiary of Samsun Metropolitan Municipality. This contract has a value of EUR 12.32 million. Currently, there are 21 Ansaldo Breda tram cars in Samulas fleet.
Durmazlar was also awarded a contract for the supply of 12 tram to Kocaeli Municipality.
