Russian Railways and Indonesian railways should sign a cooperation agreement which will determine the priority areas for cooperation and the mechanisms of the future work, RZD’s President Oleg Belozerov said during a meeting with Indonesian President Joko Widodo.
Belozerov has discussed about company’s experience in railway infrastructure implementation, as well as the capability to provide a full range of services, from consulting, feasibility studies, design and construction through the supply of materials, machinery and equipment to transport management systems and staff training.
“Russian Railways attaches great importance to the development of cooperation between our two countries in the transport sector. The company is working on various projects in Indonesia, including together with Indonesia’s railways. I am convinced that the RZD Holding’s experience and expertise could be used effectively in the development and modernisation of the existing railway network, as well as in the implementation of plans to construct new railway lines,” Oleg Belozerov said.
Indonesian President said that his country is interested in further cooperation with RZD in the development of Indonesia’s railway infrastructure and renewing the rolling stock in the country’s regions.
