Russian railway infrastructure engineering company RZD International is ready to participate in the overhaul of the entire Serbian section of the railway line connecting Belgrade to Montenegro’s Bar port. After completing the overhaul of the Resnik-Valjevo section, RZD International is interested in taking part in the project for reconstruction of the stretch linking Valjevo to Vrbnica, near the border with Montenegro, according to the deputy managing director of the company’s Serbian unit, Mansurbek Sultanov.
“We have talked about this with people from the pertinent ministry and we expect an answer. The execution of this big project requires the definition of a financing model, which will be a decision of the Serbian government,” Mansurbek Sultanov said. The reconstruction of the Valjevo-Vrbnica stretch is estimated at some EUR 220 million.
