State-owned RZD will sell its telecom unit TransTeleCom (TTK), in which it owns 99.99%, in 2016, 1prime.biz reports. The company does not yet have agreements with anyone on the sale of TTK, according to RZD vice president Valery Reshetnikov.
“We are studying the issue; it has a specific procedure … we have to look for potential buyers,” Valery Reshetnikov said.
TTK operates Russia’s largest fiber optic communication network with a length of more than 76,000 kilometers. The network is laid along railways, and has more than 1,000 access nodes in all 85 regions of Russia.
