Russia and China plan a joint research center for high speed rail

04-moscowRussia and China plan to establish a joint research center to support construction of the Moscow-Kazan high speed rail, Russian Railways First Deputy President Alexander Misharin said.
“We really intend to create such a center with the assistance of the Moscow State University of Railway Engineering and St. Petersburg State Transport University in order to support the high speed rail project and develop technologies,” he said.
The Moscow-Kazan high speed railway will reach a length of approx. 770 kilometers and trains may go at a speed of 350-400 kilometers per hour. The Moscow-Kazan rail line may later be extended to China, connecting the two countries across Kazakhstan.
