Cluj Napoca Local Council has approved the project of Public Transport Company (CTP) on the acquisition of 7 trams and 43 buses with financing from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The city’s municipality will be the guarantee of the EUR 20 million loan and, under the pre-financing agreement, CTP will contribute by up to EUR 4.8 million, “amount representing the project’s VAT”.
“This loan will not be granted until EBRD will not make an expertise, a detailed evaluation to prove that CTP is compatible to receive this loan. We are now discussing only about a pre-financing agreement. CTP will return this loan using the special contribution set in the cost of travel tickets”, said Mayor Emil Boc.
