Ro-La service will begin between Halkali (Turkey) and Sopron (Hungary), as it was announced by Emin Tekbas, TCDD Deputy General Manager. Ro-La trains are for carrying trucks and densely used especially to cross Hungary and Austria withTurkish trucks due to restrictions. If service begins between Halkali and Sopron, trucks may reach from Turkey to Germany with a limited travel by road and instead using the railways.
TCDD had announced at the beginning of 2015 that workgroup organised by TCDD, Hungarian Railways, Gysev Cargo and Rail Cargo Hungary was working on a regular Ro-La transport service between Halkali and Sopron.
