Renfe offers 8.3 million seats for summer travel

Renfe offers 8,350,000 seats for travel on all its High Speed and Long Distance trains this summer. The increase in seats is mainly based on the incorporation of the new Avlo services that will begin to run today between Madrid, Galicia and Asturias.

The new Avlo services that will connect Madrid with Galicia and Asturias are S106 series trains with 581 seats, the maximum capacity in the Spanish railway market. This new offer represents an increase of 8,000 seats in Galicia and nearly 10,400 seats in Asturias per week.

Renfe summer trains: New Alvia direct to Avilés

Within the increase in seats offered in Asturias, it is worth highlighting the incorporation of the new Alvia direct to Avilés: leaving Madrid at 9:15 a.m. and arriving in Avilés at 1:04 p.m. And at 5:14 p.m. from Avilés to Madrid at 9:09 p.m. from Sunday to Friday. In Asturias, cities such as León, Palencia, Valladolid and Segovia will also benefit from this commercial offer.

For Galicia, the new commercial offer means the implementation of a daily round-trip Avlo service, which will alternate its origins/destinations between Vigo-Madrid and A Coruña-Madrid, passing through Santiago de Compostela and with stops at all the stations on the line: Segovia, Medina del Campo, Zamora, Sanabria AV, A Gudiña, Ourense, Vilagarcía de Arousa and Pontevedra.

Renfe will also increase direct connections between Valencia and Castilla y León and double the capacity of hundreds of High-Speed and Long-Distance trains.

In this way, Renfe’s direct high-speed service offer between the Valencian Community and Castilla y León will be four AVE trains, two in each direction, to León; one AVE in each direction between Valencia and Burgos; and one Alvia in each direction Alicante-León.

Increase in low-cost seats with the new Avlo S106

With the launch of the new Avlo services with Series 106 trains on the Madrid-Zaragoza-Barcelona high-speed corridor, a series of adjustments and improvements will be made to the management of the offer during the summer. On July 22, the implementation phase of the new vehicles on this corridor ends, so that the company’s eight current Avlo services will be provided with the S106, which represents another significant increase in low-cost seats.

In a first phase of launching the Avlo S106 on the Madrid-Zaragoza-Barcelona line on May 21, Renfe replaced some of the S112 trains of the Avlo service with the new S106, the highest capacity trains operated in Spain, which represented a large increase in low-cost seats.

The introduction of the new Avlo S106 trains on the corridor will be accompanied in some cases by timetable and product changes associated with these vehicles. All information and timetables can be found on the website www.renfe.com.

Renfe, as the leading company in the railway sector in Spain, connects the entire territory bringing thousands of passengers to their destinations every summer, multiplies connections, offers more frequencies than anyone else, shortens distances and improves the overall reliability of the mobility system.
