“This call for projects will be the largest in terms of budget available in the period 2021-2027. We are making more than €7 billion available for projects that will support a smart and sustainable transport system, with a focus on cross-border projects between Member States. The times we live in have shown us once again the importance of having a strong transport network of railways, inland waterways and maritime routes, which will increase the competitiveness of our industry, bring citizens closer to each other and firmly anchor Ukraine and Moldova in the EU.”
Adina Vălean – Transport Commissioner

By partnering with European companies, Romania can benefit from their experience and expertise in the railway sector, as well as access to additional financial resources.
