Poland launches tender for Legnica- Lubin- Rudna rehabilitation

PKP Polish Railway Lines announced the tender for the rehabilitation of Legnica- Lubin- Rudna rail section, on line No. 289, in Lower Silesia. The EUR 58 million project is estimated to be completed by 2020. Currently, this line allows only freight trains, but after the rehabilitation of the 40 km rail section, passenger trains will can travel at speeds of 120 km/h.
The works involve tracks engineering structures (bridges, viaducts, culverts), catenary and railway traffic control devices and the rehabilitation of 10 stations and stops.
The Legnica – Rudna rail line is an important link between Poland’s line E30 (Zgorzelec- Wroclaw- Opole-Katowice- Kraków-Przemysl) and line No. 273 (Wrocław Główny – Szczecin Główny).
The project is included in the EUR 15.9 billion National Railway strategy until 2023.
