PKP is considering the introduction of quiet zones on its trains, starting with its EIP pendolino services. The move comes after the introduction of quiet zones to selected services in France, the Netherlands, Germany and the Czech Republic. In such zones, talking on the phone, playing loud music or any other interruptions are forbidden.
In order to introduce such a measure, first major changes to PKP’s booking system would have to be made to allow people to choose specific carriages. In the meantime, PKP is seeking to respond to calls for quiet trains by introducing an awareness campaign to educate passengers.
