The 11th edition of the leading event in the Central and East-European Region, Railway Pro Investment Summit, is the perfect opportunity to meet key players from the international railway market who will be providing valuable insights concerning ongoing and future projects while sharing their visions on the progress and direction of the rail transport market.
The event is spread over three days and includes an interactive conference, exposition, and a technical visit to Magurele Laser Valley for the project called Extreme – Light Infrastructure – Nuclear Physics (ELI – NP), one of the most important European research projects.

Mr. Takahashi joined the Japanese National Railways in April 1985 and East Japan Railway Company in April 1987. His experience in JR East is mainly in the administrative and international divisions. He was appointed as Executive Director of the Brussels Branch in February 2013
With more than 23 years of overall experience as an International Executive, Mr. Mihuţ is, since April 2016, General Manager of CFR Marfa, the Romanian national operator that performs its activity on the whole railway network
After working 5 years at SNCFR, in 1999 he joined the team of inspectors at the Romanian Railway Authority – AFER, in the field of railway safety. He militated for the implementation of the European regulation framework in the Romanian legislation and the creation of the adequate institutional support structure. After having worked in the private sector, where he contributed to the promotion of railway transport and the opportunities provided by the Romanian market at international level, in 2009 he became, once again, director of OIFR. Currently he is General Director – AFER
Mr. Dennis Schut M.A. & M.Sc. is the head of the Research & Innovation Unit of the UIC – the International Union of Railways. In January 2007, he was appointed as senior research adviser for the UIC and holds office at UIC Brussels as well as in the UIC headquarters in Paris. Among other tasks he coordinated a number of EC funded rail research project such as GLOBAL VIEW, ERRAC ROADMAP and FOSTER-RAIL and has been involved in a number of other EC funded projects such as TRANSSLO, TRANSNEW, SPECTRUM, HERMES, MARATHON, SETRIS and REFINET
Mr. Maier’s technical experience spans over 20 years in aviation and railway industry. During his 11 years in the railway field, he held different positions, Political Affairs (National and International); Project, Quality and Risk Management; Support/ Process Management; Strategy Development. Currently he is Head of International Affairs at BLS.
The debated topics will tackle the Shift2Rail Initiative, the Horizon 2020 programme, Technical Specifications for Interoperability, TEN-T network, while the backbone of the discussions will be represented by the Fourth Railway Package, the most recent and important legislative package whose purpose is the achievement of a Single European Railway Area through the removal of barriers.
