Nokia announced that it has obtained clearance from the U.S. Committee on Foreign Investment (“CFIUS”) for its proposed acquisition of Alcatel-Lucent. Previously, the ‘U.S. Department of Justice announced the antitrust clearance.
Both companies received the required regulatory approvals for this proposed transaction in the United States.
Under the transaction, that is a subject for Nokia shareholders approval, Nokia will hold 50% of Alcatel-Lucent shares.
According to Nokia, the proposed transaction is expected to close in the first half of 2016.
